WorkshopsComing in March 2010 to Vancouver and Victoria: Documenting Work Processes and Sharpening Your Writing Skills. Or sign up for email notifications about future workshops. Documenting Work ProcessesA current and comprehensive manual of essential operational procedures helps ensure that an organization's processes meet required standards and that it can survive unexpected employee absence or turnover. This workshop shows you how to document your organization's work processes and prepare a detailed task-based procedures manual. Sharpening Your Writing SkillsGood writing skills are essential for career success in many jobs today. Are yours holding you back? This one-day workshop will dramatically improve your business writing by showing you how to communicate faster and more effectively using plain English. Documenting Your Organization's Financial ProcessesThis workshop shows you the benefits of documenting your organization's financial processes (and the potential pitfalls of not documenting them), how to determine which processes should be documented, conducting process walk-throughs, writing and formatting procedures using a specially prepared MS Word template, reviewing and approving drafts, and maintaining and revising your manual so that it stays current. Writing Revisable Manuals: Print and OnlineThis one-day workshop shows you how to prepare policy and procedure manuals, system manuals, operations and maintenance manuals, and other types of technical publications. And it covers how to publish them to your web site as an e-manual to significantly reduce publication costs, get information out faster, and streamline maintenance. In-House WorkshopsIf you have a number of people who would benefit from one of our workshops, it can be offered in-house. And we can customize the workshop to meet your organization's documentation environment and training objectives. The cost for an in-house workshop is $1,250 per day, plus expenses (for course handouts and travel costs, if applicable). For more information, call Duncan Kent at 604-683-3136 ext. 1 to discuss. See In-House Workshops for a list of organizations that have benefited from our workshops. |
