Word Spacing

Use a single space to separate the end of one sentence from the beginning of the next. When typewriters were used, typists used two spaces to get the required space. Now, word processors automatically put in the correct amount of space at the end of sentences. Pressing the space bar twice will result in twice the required spacing.

Do not use the space bar to position words. Instead, change the margin or insert a tab. In a well-prepared document, you’ll never find two consecutive spaces used anywhere.
